The very first adidas NMD_R1, which sparked a sneaker craze bigger than even the brand itself could’ve ever imagined, is reportedly set for a re-release this January.

You may remember (if you were lucky enough to cop, perhaps) Afew raffled off a few hundred pairs of the shoe back in August, but now we look set for a proper re-release after German retailer Inflammable launched a page containing a countdown to January 13, alongside images and size charts of the OG sneaker behemoth.

Released under the slogan of “The Past empowers the Future,” the original NMD perfectly combined design details from the adidas archives with innovative technologies to set a new benchmark for modern streetwear sneakers. It came with a black Primeknit upper made of flexible wool blends for a perfect fit, a boat sole, and blue and red detailing.

We’re yet to receive official confirmation from the Three Stripes. Stay tuned for more information.

Meanwhile, New Balance just unveiled a brand new silhouette called the 247.
