Even locked up in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, ‘Ye isn’t slowing down with the adidas YEEZY releases. The latest drop is a pretty unique one, too. The adidas YEEZY Boost 350 V2 Light features a UV-sensitive upper which changes color in sunlight. The YEEZY Boost 350 V2 Light dropped on August 28 but, as always, you can get your hands on a pair at StockX if you missed out.

Surely at this point we’ve seen it all from the YEEZY franchise. Then again, we think that every time. When the Foam RNNR dropped, we wondered if it could get any crazier. Then the YEEZY 450 hit shelves and we reassessed the situation. Of course, the YEEZY Boost 350 V2 is nothing new in terms of its silhouette, but the color-changing upper certainly is.

Equipped with UV-sensitive mesh, the stripe that runs along the adidas YEEZY Boost 350 V2 Light provides a playful surprise when exposed to sunlight. While the shoe looks like a pretty standard 350 at first sight, complete with a dusty color palette, the normally reflective strip has been replaced with new tech. The transparent mesh strip transforms into a rich yellow hue when exposed to sunlight, completely altering the color scheme and offering a contrast to the neutral upper.

After a quiet past month — by YEEZY standards — this new development could be a way to build up some steam for a slew of new YEEZY models in the coming months. After all, we’ve seen how good Kanye is at building hype lately, haven’t we?

How much does the adidas YEEZY Boost 350 V2 Light cost?

The adidas YEEZY Boost 350 V2 Light retailed for $220, but StockX market data reveals a 12-month trade range of $299-$646 averaging out at $408. It seems that the YEEZYverse is welcoming the UV tech with open arms, adding a 43 percent price premium to the model.
