What We’re Saying: Exactly one year removed from their debut collaboration, Awake NY and Reebok present their latest joint effort. This week, the NYC streetwear brand is launching co-branded takes on a pair of Reebok icons in the Club C and Classic Leather.

Appearing in a Sandtrap and Chalk colorway, both models are decorated with snake accents and the Awake signature motif on the heel, tongue label, and sockliner. At the core, the collaboration blends NYC street culture with London youth culture, while simultaneously honoring a streetwear and sneaker legend, and friend of Awake NY, Gary Warnett.

Awake NY founder Angelo Baque revealed that with the collab, he intended to “Design something that felt like New York heritage, but that also acknowledges London youth culture; the goal was to capture the synergy between both of the worlds and bringing them together through authentic product.”

In speaking on his late friend, Gary Warnett, Baque added, “I wish he could have been here for the design process, especially when looking at the Classic Leather, seeing the late 80s and 90s and the culmination of street culture and hip hop and New York's love of the Club C.”

Awake NY's SS21 Reebok collaboration is available beginning tomorrow, March 12 at 11 a.m. EST, through awakenyclothing.com and Dover Street Market.
