Gucci's latest collaboration puts an Italian twist on an American classic. The Italian luxury house has concocted a model car — the Cadillac Seville, to be precise — in partnership with the toy auto experts at Hot Wheels.

The miniature marks Hot Wheels' first foray into fashion collaborations, as well as Gucci's first official collectible model. Packaged in a sleek Gucci box, the Hot Wheels miniature captures the detail of Gucci's full-scale Cadillac Seville at 1:64 scale.

Designed by Guccio Gucci's son, Aldo, the limited-edition Gucci Cadillac Seville was originally introduced in 1979. It boasted a Gucci-monogrammed top, a Gucci hood ornament, and a steering wheel plated with the Gucci logo. The interior of the ultra-luxe ride boasted a logo-printed glove compartment and monogrammed upholstery.

These details are mostly recreated in this tiny version, down to the whitewall tires and patterned rear hood.

Since Gucci's Cadillac Seville debuted 42 years ago, the worlds of fashion and automobiles have continued to intersect.

Gucci went on to design a limited-edition Fiat 500, and Fendi teamed up with Maserati on a GranCabrio. This year, Aimé Leon Dore unveiled its own Porsche 911 SC.

Gucci's Hot Wheels collaboration is one of several projects celebrating the house's 100th anniversary.

Besides its Balenciaga "hack," the label also launched its very own NFT, an online store offering archival Gucci and, most recently, a series of "Gucci 100" pop-up shops.

We also have Ridley Scott's House of Gucci to look forward to on November 24, though the Gucci family is reportedly not so excited about that one.

In the meantime, mark your calendars for October 18 at 9 a.m. PT — the Hot Wheels x Gucci Cadillac Seville will drop at Mattel Creations' website then. Pedal to the metal, because the collab is sure to sell out in a flash.
