Editor’s Notes: Overkill and adidas Originals are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall with a co-branded “No Walls Necessary” ZX8000 pack. The sneakers will initially release in-store at Overkill on November 2 with a wider release to follow on November 9. Those that purchase a pair of sneakers at the in-store release event will be given €100 in cash back. The concept comes from the “Begrüßungsgeld” or “Welcome Money” that was given to East Germans who came to West Germany after the fall of the wall. Visitors were given a payment of 100 Deutsche Mark. The sneakers are strictly limited to 1989 pairs to commemorate the year the wall fell.
