A strange sense of excitement overwhelms the sneaker world every time Patta collaborates with Nike.

Since kick-starting “The Wave” midway through last year, the two labels have partnered on the iconic Air Max 1 silhouette on multiple occasions, each time sending the sneaker sphere into raptures, and then ultimate depression after dishing out a myriad of raffle Ls.

Now though, following the unveiling and subsequent release of its first “The Next Wave” installment, Patta and Nike return with a clean “Pure Platinum” iteration, a colorway which is basically totally off limits to me thanks to my inability to keep anything white, well, white.

Following its initial surfacing way back in June, the latest addition to the Patta x Nike arsenal has been an official online release date of August 26.

Similar to the first drop, the sneaker is accompanied by a Shaniqwa Jarvis-shot campaign that features New York-based grill maker Eddie Plein, illustrator Aya Brown, South African DJ DBNGogo, and South African entrepreneur, Wireless G, all donning the summer-ready silhouette.

Arriving with the same wave pattern as its predecessors, the “Pure Platinum” AM1 is crafted with crisp strips of white leather and contrasting gray mesh for good measure.

Undoubtedly the most summer-ready AM1 the duo have delivered yet, this AM1 looks to be the final installment of “The Next Wave” series, although if past release are anything to go by, both Patta and Nike aren't afraid of a surprise or two.

To the naked eye this latest release might look like just another pair of white AM1, but to the heads, the real heads, the Patta x Nike AM1 “Pure Platinum” is exactly what it sounds like: pure platinum. Needs must, right?
