Already creating a line of women’s apparel and footwear with FENTY PUMA by Rihanna and a complete makeup line with FENTY BEAUTY by Rihanna, the global superstar is now reportedly working on a lingerie line in conjunction with El Segundo-based brand TechStyle Fashion Group, according to WWD.

Sources suggest that this new lingerie line is viewed as a key strategic move in TechStyle’s efforts to file for an initial public offering, as the company had been previously named JustFab but changed to TechStyle in 2016 to solidify the parent company as a tech-based, brand-building platform handling all back-end functions, including media, which has raised about $300 million to date.

Lloyd Greif, president and chief executive officer of Los Angeles investment bank Greif & Co., speculated on the move, saying, “What they want to do is show growth. The key to going public is having a growth track record or having growth in their windshield, not in the rearview mirror of the company so I’m sure the Rihanna brand play would be to convince the market that the company has strong growth ahead because IPOs are all about growth ahead.”

A launch date for the line has not been revealed yet, however, sources say TechStyle has been working on the project for more than a year, with samples already produced.
