Key Pieces: “Take-copter” and “Small Light” graphic printed tees, Doraemon running graphic with Japanese text tee
Editor’s Notes: After dropping some gorgeous Karakami Karacho graphic print T-shirts, Uniqlo’s UT division now presents its “Doraemon” capsule for spring.
Inspired by the classic Japanese manga series that revolves around a robotic cat named Doraemon, the range of T-shirts features works by master contemporary artist Takashi Murakami.
Consisting of tees and a plush toy overall, the main visual is Murakami’s artwork, “Anna koto iina dekitara iina,” which was first seen at The Doraemon exhibition in Tokyo in 2017. This colorful work incorporates the main characters Doraemon and Nobita, Murakami’s characteristic flowers, as well as designs depicting the world of Doraemon, including a humorous scene of Nobita begging for Doraemon’s help, and shirts printed with familiar secret gadgets such as the “Take-copter” and “Small Light.”
With prices ranging from $9.90 USD to $29.90 USD, you can purchase the entire collection at Uniqlo.com and exclusively at Uniqlo’s 5th avenue location in NYC on Thursday, April 26.
