Last week XXL revealed its 2017 Freshman Class inductees, consisting of Kamaiyah, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, PnB Rock, Madeintyo, Playboi Carti, Aminé, Kap G, Kyle, Ugly God and XXXTentacion. After getting to known this group of young guns a little bit better, now we’ve been blessed with a new Freshman Class freestyle from classmate A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.

Directed by Aristotle Bam and produced by Travis Satten, above we see the visual highlighting the New York-born rapper’s celebratory freestyle, which spans just under a minute, with no instrumentation.

In speaking on the coveted XXL nod, A Boogie insisted, “It means a lot to me [to be a XXL Freshman]. Just remembering back and looking at everyone else who were Freshmen for XXL, when I was in high school and looking at that magazine issue and now I’m about to be on it, it’s different now.”

“All these blessings coming in are crazy. You can either become worse or step up. I plan on making music better. I’m talking about my life and explaining to people how it goes. Hopefully it motivates people.”

After checking out the new Freshman freestyle from A Boogie, visit XXL for their new interview with the budding rap star.

Not NYC, not LA.
