The American Music Awards celebrated its 43rd ceremony at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California last night. With Jennifer Lopez holding down the night's hosting duties, the star-studded affair was met with a slew of lit performances from Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, The Weeknd and more. Taylor Swift was the night's biggest winner (quelle surprise), while Rihanna finally revealed that long-awaited release date for her highly anticipated album Anti.

But when it comes down to it, the prime reason why anyone tunes in to these broadcasts is to see what kind of tricked-out (or absurd) fashion getups our favorite artists are donning.

While this year's AMA red carpet offerings veered a tad too boy band member meets GQ cover for our liking, there were a few artists whose sartorial selections were really on point. Check out our favorite looks below.

Nicki leading the pack in this elegant Michael Costello gown.

Selena Gomez taking lit to new (literal) levels.

Gigi Hadid strutting her stuff in an angelic meets Mortal Kombat avatar two-piece gown.

Krouching Kardashian, Hidden Dragon.

Pop's favorite sadboy J Biebs rocking a grungy Fear of God ensemble.

Ciara flaunting the goodies.

Tyga and his main bae Kylie keeping the couple goals game intact.

The Weeknd rocking a sheeny suit, bowtie and signature undefinable hairdo.

Singer Lauren Jauregui flexing her inner goth and swooning us over in the process.

One of many revealing ensembles worn by the night's hostess.

Wiz Khalifa looking surprisingly dapper in a tailored suit.

Nick Jonas channeling his inner "Hotline Bling" swag.
