Brands: Converse, Slam Jam

Season: FW17

Key Pieces: Gore-Tex Utility Jacket and Chuck ’70 Hiker

Editor’s Notes: Converse unveils a new premium apparel and footwear line dubbed "Urban Utility," which catapults the brand into contemporary street fashion.

Italian streetwear powerhouse Slam Jam and visual artist Cali Thornhill Dewitt help interpret the Urban Utility range to celebrate the importance of freedom of creative expression through a thoughtful provocation from Dewitt – "Your Silence Gets You Nothing."

Inspired by a generation that rallies around community and freedom of expression, Dewitt’s graphics, formed of his notorious all-caps punk-style lettering and translated into English, Farsi, Italian, Korean, French, Russian and Hebrew, aims to deliver a powerful message. The 17-piece capsule collection is built with cross-seasonality in mind and includes pants, hoodies, tees, jackets as well as various footwear.

You can find the "Your Silence Gets You Nothing" capsule collection by Converse, Slam Jam and Cali Thornhill DeWitt, in addition to the Converse Urban Utility outerwear at select retailers and online starting Tuesday, December 5, with prices ranging from $45 up to $475 USD.
