The iconic Dior Perforated Cannage design has been transformed into a line of men’s bags by artistic director Kim Jones.

The Summer 2019 line includes two items: the perfect weekend bag and the shopper. Both bags are available in black and tan perforated leather, created with laser cutting and handwork. A canvas pouch printed with the KAWS redesign of Dior’s bee emblem is included to hold items securely inside the bag. The pink or yellow bees can be seen peeking through the outer bag’s perforations.

The Cannage House code was first introduced by Christian Dior himself. It was inspired by Napoléon III-style chairs that clients used to sit on to view the haute couture showings.

Whether Dior will be the brand that finally gets men’s handbags into the mainstream remains to be seen. Stay tuned for release details.
