His ninth studio album was originally slated to drop September 27, a release date revealed by Kim Kardashian back in August. However, after a delay that sent fans spiraling on Twitter, lucky audiences members were able to hear the album early during Kanye's back-to-back-to-back Jesus Is King: A Kanye West Experience listening sessions in Detroit and Chicago, and Queens, New York. Then, earlier this week Kanye finally revealed a new release date, October 25 as well as sharing a preorder link on his site.
According to the first critic reviews, it looks like the wait might be worth it saying that the album "fire", "ego-free", and more than just a gospel album. The album features ten tracks including songs from the previous tracklist including “Selah”, “Water” and “Sunday” as well as appearances from Lauryn Hill, Pusha-T, and his brother, No Malice (reuniting Clipse).
Alongside the listening parties. Kanye also premiered his Jesus is King IMAX film in LA on Wednesday, with the movie hitting theaters this Friday. Watch the behind-the-scenes trailer for it below.
