[UPDATE] July 19, 2019 5:27 p.m. EST It appears that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have in fact gotten President Trump’s attention regarding A$AP Rocky’s incarceration in Sweden. Just this afternoon Trump announced that he has spoken with Kanye and will now be contacting the Prime Minister of Sweden, Stefan Löfven, to see what can be done about Rocky’s detainment. The Harlem rapper’s initial two week jail sentence is now up as of today, July 19, but the Swedish prosecution is requesting an extension to Thursday, July 25, to further investigate the case.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have enlisted the help of President Trump to join the Free A$AP Rocky movement, TMZ reports.

Rocky has been detained in a Swedish jail for almost two weeks now while officials determine whether or not he will be charged with aggravated assault. His case has garnered major furor around the globe, with celebs and members of congress alike standing up to demand his release. Now it looks like the White House is on the case, too.

Per TMZ’s report, West urged Kardashian to call up Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and urge him to speak with the President. Apparently Trump acknowledged that Rocky is being held unfairly and said he wanted to help.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is also said to have “unleashed a few deputies” to start actively working on the case, largely thanks to West and Kardashian’s efforts.

Rocky’s detainment date is set to end tomorrow, July 19. Find the full timeline of what’s gone on so far here.
