After buying his second ranch in Wyoming, Kanye West is reportedly planning to build a YEEZY sample lab there too. The proposed adidas YEEZY Cody Sample Lab, as it will apparently be called, will be located in a heavy industrial zone in Cody, Wyoming’s North Industrial Park.
As local Cody, Wyoming-based publication Cody Enterprise reports, city planning and zoning board members will review a site plan for the factory on December 17. A P&Z report by city planner Todd Stowell reveals that West plans to convert an already-existing warehouse to a sample-prototype lab for adidas YEEZY production.
Currently, YEEZY headquarters are located in Calabasas, California while its shoes are manufactured at factories operated by adidas, primarily in China. Back in October, West spoke to Zane Lowe about his plans to bring YEEZY production to the United States. He admitted that he initially didn’t like Wyoming, but eventually fell in love with the state, even taking inspiration from the landscape for his label’s signature earthy colorways.
