LiAngelo Ball — along with his father, LaVar — made an appearance on the TODAY Show where he discussed the China incident and his reasons for leaving UCLA.
Back in November, the rising basketball star was arrested in the city of Hangzhou after being caught shoplifting alongside fellow UCLA teammates Cody Riley and Jalen Hill.
Ball served a day and a half in prison, an experience he described as “horrible,” before President Trump intervened on his behalf, which resulted in all charges being dropped.
UCLA, however, weren’t so lenient. The college suspended Ball for three months, which led to the star’s father to pull him from the school to focus instead on the upcoming NBA drafts.
