Where the runway meets the street

Kim Jones’s final show for Louis Vuitton hit all the right notes of luxury and futuristic while also dipping into one of our favorite colors this season: ultra bright frozen yellow.

Previous Louis Vuitton collections have explored ideas of travel with a sneaky streetwear influence of bold graphics and oversized fits. For FW18, the influence of streetwear could still be seen, albeit with more of a lean towards maximalist high fashion.

There were super-skinny silhouettes, marbled shorts over monogrammed leggings, black shiny monogrammed vinyl trousers, duo-tone trench coats, reflective utility shirts, branded baseball jerseys, and color clashing hiking boots.

Louis Vuitton shows are always a big draw for celebrities (David and Victoria Beckham, Future and 1/3 of the Jonas brothers), but the real buzz for this season was the return of OG ’90s supermodels Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell who closed the show in a brown and black monogrammed mac respectively.
