“No age, no gender, no sex — I wanted everyone to feel included,” Miley insists. “Converse has no boundaries. It’s outspoken. I’ve always identified with Converse because the brand appeals to and represents so many different cultures and walks of life. And they’re accessible.”
Converse in turn called on Ellen Von Unwerth to photograph the coinciding lookbook for Cyrus’ initial capsule, starring Miley and some of her biggest fans.
“I definitely had my fans in mind and in my heart when I was creating,” she says. “I put what they love about me and what I love about them into the design.”
Designed to be pieced together to adhere to any given mood or style, Miley Cyrus’ debut Converse collection launches May 2 at select retailers and online.
