Roundel revisit a British icon for Fall/Winter 2015, working with shoemaker George Cox on a selection of Creeper shoes, a style which has found fans across generations and subcultures. Adopted by Teddy Boys and Teddy Girls in the '50s, Cox was the first to create the iconic style in its most recognisable form, introducing it to the commercial market. Worn with drainpipe trousers, socks on full show, the chunky, crepe sole creeper's popularity skyrocketed. Finding a second life in the punk movement of the '70s, the style would gain a new audience, becoming part of a DIY wardrobe alongside tartan, patches and distressed and destroyed denim. Roundel's continuing exploration of London youth culture past and present sees the shoe return as part of the Fall/Winter 2015 collection. Available in black or white, a full leather upper, crepe sole and laces are produced in tonal shades, this bold classic soon to be available at Roundel stockists worldwide.
