Street Style is an ongoing series shot by Highsnobiety. This week, Copenhagen-based photographer Adam Katz Sinding (the sole force behind Le 21ème) heads to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Almaty to capture the city’s style set as they take in the Fall/Winter 2017 shows in Kazakhstan’s largest metropolis.

Location: Almaty, Kazakhstan

Season:
Fall/Winter 2017

Key Looks: It looks as though the DIY fake customized fashion trend that had Seoul in a frenzy is sweeping into Central Asia, too (slide #2). Yet another lesson in offbeat layering (slide #20) and OFF-WHITE’s latest nu-workwear aesthetic gets some rotation (slide #5).

Editor’s Notes: This emerging fashion week spotlights not only rising designers from Kazakhstan, but also the Eastern European fashion scene, and Kazakh steez is just as refined, intelligent and achingly trendy as any other part of the world. In fact, Highsnobiety’s own Kazakh intern Sanzhar Toxanbayev confirms as much.
