Our Sneaker Rotation series continues, highlighting the current footwear choices of BEAUTY & YOUTH and monkey time's Hiroki Okuda.

Next up in our Sneaker Rotation series is Hiroki Okuda, from BEAUTY & YOUTH's Men’s Merchandising Dept. as well as the shop's in-house label, monkey time .

When we reached out to Hiroki, we had somewhat of an idea of what to expect. Considering he is responsible for shaping Japanese retailer BEAUTY & YOUTH and in-house line monkey time, it was safe to assume the selection would stick to the duo's pared back aesthetic. Black and white colorways keep things clean and simple, allowing the mind to focus on the more pertinent aspects of design and lifestyle. Now, not every shoe is stripped back to its essentials. With fall/winter upon us, Hiroki has opted to adapt with the changing seasons and include some cold weather styles too.

One of this season's most solid rotation's, you can check them all out below.

Stampd x PUMA Trinomic Sock Both Stampd and PUMA are our good partners so this collaboration made me really excited. This Disc Blaze redesign without the “Disc” is really starting to appear on a lot of PUMA collaborations, while the tonal milky white upper in leather, suede and nubuck is really beautiful. This clean and minimal pair matches my style perfectly.

PUMA Trinomic Disc Blaze for monkey time “Orcinusorca” This was our first collaboration with PUMA that was released exclusively in Japan. Sneakerheads might remember our GEL-LYTE V “Lights&Shadows” when they see this. The black and white colorway reflects our clean and minimal aesthetic very well. Many of my friends overseas needed this but we didn’t have enough pairs to send over, so I've asked PUMA to launch our next collab globally. I believe they are going to do it, so please keep waiting for the next one in early 2016.

article no. 1115 "Ice Grey" This is my first article no. sneaker and I was surprised by the comfort of the neoprene in-sock. Just aesthetically, this was something different from any of my sport brand's sneakers. I love high-top shoes but I am always bothered by unlacing to wear, however, this can be worn without having to unlace so I always travel by airplane together with this. In addition, grey is one of my favorite colors right now. This all-grey high-top matches both of my favorite grey wool basket short and washed grey skinny jeans perfectly. As it happens, this grey one was only stocked in our Harajuku store in Japan.

Filling Pieces for monkey time Mountain Boot Woven We just dropped these in September and I've basically been wearing nothing but boots and high-tops this fall/winter. I love this pair in particular because I couldn’t find this kind of luxury but street-like mountain boot in the market. For this collaboration, Guillaume from Filling Pieces recommended this beautiful woven leather and these will for sure remain in my rotation during this winter.

PUMA by Rihanna Suede Creeper This is my most recently copped sneaker. I was excited to see this at first because I really loved the Creeper sneakers of LA’s up-coming label Mr.Completely, who actually assisted Rihanna in designing this pair. I was really disappointed to hear that there was no release in men’s sizes in Japan. I asked some of my friends living overseas if they could help me get my hands on these and fortunately, I was able to cop two colors of the Creeper: one for me and one for my wife.

PUMA x Highsnobiety x KITH  RF-Blaze of Glory This is the first sneaker by Ronnie Fieg stocked in our store. RF is a sneakerhead superstar all over and Japan is no exception. Adding the strap was a genius way to refresh the BoG. He always knows what’s next.

PUMA x ICNY Faas 100 “Heartbreaker” This is the only red shoe in my closet. Everyone's surprised to see these on my feet because I haven't worn strong colors on my feet in years. I was inspired by the shoe's designer, Mike, who was wearing these when he visited our store last month for a workshop. To be honest, I wore them to to please him but I ended up finding a new joy in bright sneakers. Actually, I also copped PUMA x ICNY’s Ignite in mint and love it as well.
