After getting a look at Converse's latest collaboration with Barneys, here we see the brand's new in-house release of the Chuck Taylor All Star '70s. The "Space" collection draws inspiration from significant intergalactic travel events that occurred during the 1970s. Two limited edition colorways are present, with the black and white iteration designed to honor astronauts that have traveled to the moon. 3M reflective detailing has been put into play in order to represent the exterior of a spacecraft. The graphics on the upper are in turn inspired by rocket ships.
The second set is a nod to the splash down balloons that helped astronauts safely re-enter the earth's atmosphere. The heel of this particular pair boasts location coordinates from a historical moment that took place in the Pacific Ocean. The sneaker notes nylon construction, featuring a leather toecap.
Converse's Chuck Taylor All Star ‘70 "Space" collection will become available tomorrow at select Converse stores and online. Retail for each sneaker is $120 USD.
