Editor’s Notes: Converse honors the origins of Pride with this year’s Pride collection of footwear and apparel. Specifically, the brand looks back to June 28, 1969, as the Stonewall Riots marked a turning point for gay and LGBTQ+ rights in New York City and the rest of the world to follow.
Converse’s 2019 Pride capsule includes the Chuck Taylor and the Chuck 70, as well as accompanying apparel. The goods are emblazoned with a bolt design and covered in glitter, ultimately designed to promote self expression. The collection also features Converse’s first-ever sneakers inspired by the Trans flag. The complementary apparel and accessories then reference the late ’60s and early ’70s.
Converse’s 2019 Pride collection is available globally beginning today, May 6.
