Designer: Dior Homme

Location: Paris, France

Season: Spring/Summer 2018

Key Pieces: The tailoring-sportswear mash-ups are undoubtedly the collection's highlights, including the half-baseball jacket, and the half-blazer; a jacket with short polo shirt sleeves.

Editor’s Notes: Kris Van Assche who heads up menswear design at Dior Homme has quite clearly gone back to basics with his latest collection. This season seems to mutate around the simple black suit, and given that Christian Dior was well-known for his ingenious tailoring, it was a sartorial homage to the house’s roots with a contemporary update. Van Assche took an expertly youthful approach to suiting, completely deconstructing it at times and juxtaposing tailoring against more sportswear-inflected motifs.
