Last week, we finally got a look at the hotly-anticipated Dior x Nike Air Jordan 1. Now Maison Dior's head footwear designer, Thibo, sat down with Sean Wotherspoon to break down the shoe in all its luxury details.

“The story started with Kim [Jones] and his love for the AJ1,” Thibo began. He revealed that the color scheme was established from the very start, explaining "the Jordan had to be grey because it’s the Mr. Dior color."

One of the striking details about the special AJ1 is that it's made entirely in Italy, which Wotherspoon noted hasn't been done in over 30 years. According to Thibo this decision was made with the desire to reach "the highest quality possible."

As the clip goes on the two sneakerheads get into the little details that really make the Dior AJ1 stand out. Wotherspoon notes a surprising element underneath the insole: a monogram-embossed natural leather sole. Thibo also reveals that Dior made the Swoosh bigger.
