As you may already know, 2017 marks the 35th anniversary of the iconic Air Force 1, which was designed by Bruce Kilgore and released in 1982.

Naturally, Nike has been pushing the timeless basketball silhouette in a big way this year, ushering in collaborations with ACRONYM, Supreme & COMME des GARÇONS SHIRT, and others, as well as dropping a range of strong in-line releases like the exclusive Bread & Butter pack.

Last weekend, Nike continued celebrating the Air Force 1 with a new installation titled “The Court by Force” at Yo’Hood in Shanghai. At the exhibition, select styles were available for purchase, including select versions of the Special Field Air Force 1, the Nike Air Force 1 Upstep, as well as the new laser-etched Nike Air Force 1 Ultraforce Shanghai.

Attendees could also test out the HyperAdapt 1.0 on-foot, and experience the futuristic E.A.R.L. auto-lacing system for themselves. The event also included seminars on the history and legacy of the Air Force 1, and matches of pickup basketball.
