Key Features: Converse’s all-new VLTG sneaker features an exaggerated heel arch, lightweight SmartFoam cushioning, and a herringbone outsole.
Release Date: August 2019
Editor’s Notes: Converse is bringing back one of its more celebrated basketball sneakers of the ’90s, the Voltage. Now referred to as the VLTG, the women’s-only shoe pays homage to the original, while featuring design updates to keep up with the times.
The Voltage debuted in 1995 and was instantly recognizable due to the bolt chevron pattern on the upper. The sneaker was a favorite within the basketball community, worn on both collegiate and NBA courts alike.
Converse’s all-new VLTG reinterprets the OG silhouette, boasting an exaggerated heel arch, lightweight SmartFoam cushioning, and a street-ready herringbone outsole. You can look forward to the women’s-exclusive launching later this month.
To complement the VLTG, Converse has utilized the aforementioned bolt chevron pattern on new iterations of the Chuck 70 and Chuck Taylor All Stars, in addition to a range of apparel. The black and white offerings are currently available through Converse.com.
