Editor’s Notes: In honor of iconic activist Martin Luther King Jr., who became the most visible spokesperson and leader in the civil rights movement, Nike and Jordan Brand have reinterpreted two of their flagship silhouettes with the Air Force 1 and Air Jordan 1 as a symbol for equality.

With both silhouettes rendered in black and white colorways, each are highlighted with the word “EQUALITY.” printed on the heels. The Air Force 1 Low also features the date March 28, 1968 embroidered behind the tongue, referencing Martin Luther King Jr.’s last-ever march, while the Air Jordan 1 flaunts a color-blocking theme.
