Ava Nirui, perhaps the best sneaker customizer in the world right now, has teamed up with fellow artist Alex Lee and Nike to create a series of fake advertisements for custom Air Max sneakers.
The ads, which will be exhibited in New York, see the duo’s fashion-infused art reimagine a series of Nike’s most iconic kicks. There's a "self-defense" Air Max 97 with barbed wire and razor blades, a remote-controlled Air Max 95 with a barbie sat inside, and much more.
The pair also created mock advertisements to accompanying each sneaker in Nike's typical straight-to-the-point style. Check out a selection of the customs below, then head over to Dazed to see the advertisements in full.
