As we are now less than a week away from this year's US Open, NikeCourt has appropriately launched a pair of classic tennis kicks. In honoring the rivalry that took place between the lines for the better part of a decade, presented are Pete Sampras' Air Oscillate and Andre Agassi's Air Tech Challenge III. The sneakers have returned just in time, leading up to the anticipated tennis tournament.

At first, Sampras had to be tricked into donning the Tinker-designed Air Oscillate, as he didn't want to shy away from the shoes that he had worn while winning all of the years prior to. Hatfield was aware of Pete's love for basketball, however, so he invited him to a pickup game and gave him the Oscillate to wear while hooping. The rest, well, is history, as Sampras went on to rock the low-tops exclusively for the next seven years.

Agassi's Air Tech Challenge III was of course a followup to the initial pair of entries, and this time around, the kicks were inspired by the coloration of a tennis ball. They also featured a visible Air unit in the heel as well as a Nike Air sole.

In commemoration of these legendary athletes and their coinciding sneakers, Nike has released the Air Oscillate and the Air Tech Challenge III in OG looks, available now in-store at KITH's newly renovated Brooklyn location. The Air Tech Challenge III is also currently for sale online, while the Oscillate will hit the Swoosh's webstore on August 29.
