Amsterdam label Tenue de Nîmes has unveiled 100 pairs of indigo-dyed Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ‘70s in celebration of Amsterdam Denim Days. Starting with a blank silhouette, Celia Geraedts, founder of Blue Print Amsterdam, a workshop that specializes in indigo dying techniques, submerged pairs one-by-one into a vat of dye, extracting them once they achieved a certain quality.
As a result, no two shoes looked the same, drawing parallels to Tenue de Nîmes denim in that regard. Celia put on a special demonstration at the Tenue de Nîmes store on Haarlemmerstraat, where she applied the dying process to the last ten pairs.
The sneakers will be released online beginning April 14 for approximately $124 USD.
