Highsnobiety recently announced the arrival of a new and exciting chapter in our history: the launch of a new retail experience starting with a drop of Prada Linea Rossa on May 22. The lookbook shot by Luis Alberto Rodriguez features three talents, Highsnobiety’s Fenn O’Meally, Berlin-based athlete, DJ, and filmmaker Andrés Sanjuan, and British model and dancer Benji Colson, who unite to embody the spirit of our upcoming partnership with Prada — a spirit that embraces innovation across every facet of creative culture, from fashion and design to sport and music.
The collection comprises a range of key pieces, from iconic harness bags and track pants to ponchos, shorts, sleeveless turtle necks, and bucket hats. The track jackets and pants are key to the capsule and an essential for anyone looking to nail that red-line flex — the linea rossa is synonymous with OG luxury sportswear, recognizable to anyone in the know about fashion. The bags and pouches, meanwhile, deliver a more subtle nod to Prada Linea Rossa’s iconic beginnings as Prada Sport.
Each item is designed with performance at its core, boasting water resistance, taped seams, and packability. Naturally, nylon — a material synonymous with Prada collections — is used throughout. Prada has used nylon in its products since the ’80s, changing high fashion.
“Suddenly nylon started to look more intriguing to me than couture fabrics. I decided to introduce it to the catwalk and it challenged, even changed, the traditional and conservative idea of luxury. I am still obsessed with it.”
