During the Philadelphia’s 118-114 win against the Charlotte Hornets, 76er Ben Simmons paid tribute to a fellow Australian by writing “Egg Boy” on his Nike Hyperdunks.

The 17-year-old “Egg Boy,” real name Will Connolly, rose to fame Down Under after egging Australian senator Fraser Anning following the tragic Christchurch, New Zealand terror attack on two mosques that claimed 50 innocent lives.

Anning had commented after the attack that the “real cause of bloodshed on New Zealand streets today is the immigration program which allowed Muslim fanatics to migrate to New Zealand in the first place.”

Connolly, who was detained after the egging incident, has since been released without charge and quickly became an internet sensation. Simmons added his support for a boy who has been billed a hero by many for standing up to Anning’s comments.

Simmons’ most recent customization of his in-game footwear follows a similar move right after the attack, when the NBA player wrote “Pray for NZ” on his shoes.
