Kanye West’s mysterious meeting with Donald Trump at Trump Tower this week has been (rightfully) one of the most talked about events of the week. It is curious, if not confounding, as to the nature of this clandestine conversation, and many have been quick to call Kanye out. However, the most scathing critique has come not from the fans or the media, but his friend and frequent collaborator John Legend.

In a video interview with French media outlet Clique, Legend did not hold anything back in his regards to Kanye’s behavior, calling the act a “publicity stunt.” He went on to say “I’m pretty disappointed with Kanye that he says he would have voted for Trump. I think Trump has been corrosive, his message has been corrosive to the country. I think the things he’s promised to do have been very concerning for a lot of people, and for Kanye to support that message is very disappointing.”
