Kanye West is pushing his presidential bid back to 2024, he revealed in a recent conversation with DJ Pharris on radio station Power 92 Chicago. So if you were counting on championing a Yeezy 2020 presidential run, you'll have to wait a little longer.

West, who originally voiced his desire to run at the 2015 MTV VMAs, told Pharris, “If I decide to do it, it will be done. I'm not going to try,” adding, “Yes, 100 percent it could happen… 2024.”

And which party will he run for — Republican? Democrat? Libertarian? Greens? As an independent?

None of the above. West will be leading The Birthday Party.

Highlighting healthcare as a primary concern ("I'm going to make sure the medical industry flourishes"), West edged away from his previous support of Donald Trump, revealing that he didn't agree with certain Trump policies, although he did suggest support for Trump's economic policies, saying, "Trump ain't fuckin' up the paper."

Under President Trump, the stock market has continued its boom, the dollar has been strong, and the Republican Congress passed a tax cut largely to the benefit of the wealthiest Americans.

In the interview, West identified himself as a political centrist (we think). “For someone to say you can't ride with both sides… it's like a modern idea of gangbanging or something," he explained. “It's divisions. We don't need to think in divisions. We need to think in arms because we're actually one race, one people, one civilization.”

Would you vote for The Birthday Party in 2024, or is West running for president the worst idea? Share your thoughts in the comments.
