Nike will soon be releasing a new book chronicling the various facets of design that go into creating their products. Featuring illustrations and essays that provide insight into various Nike innovations, the publication presents a view of the brand's overall design language.
Written and edited by the Nike News team, the book features words from Nike's Mark Parker, Hannah Jones and John Hoke (you can read his essay here now) alongside contributions from academics and artists including Andrew Blauvelt, Glenn Adamson and Matthew Kolodziej.
Brian Roettinger, who counts Jay Z's Magna Carta Holy Grail as one of his most recognizable works, designed the book itself which features the Futura font throughout, paying homage to the variations on the typeface that have been a signature of Nike's look since 1976.
Produced by THE THING Quarterly, the book, officially titled On Design, is limited to 500 copies globally. In the gallery above you'll get an exclusive first look inside. The full book will be made available for viewing online in the near future.
