Brand: Nike

Model: React Element 55

Key Features: Similar to the React Element 87, the midsole features Nike's React foam technology, while the now-synthetic upper features a trail-running lace system. Nike describes the Element 55 as the “opaque iteration of the React Element 87.”

Release Date: September 29 at 10 a.m. EDT

Price: $130

Buy: Nike and select retailers TBC

Editor’s Notes: Hot on the heels of the super-popular React Element 87, Nike has now announced its React Element 55 sneaker. While the silhouette looks unmistakably similar to the 87, the 55 opts for more traditional materials for the upper rather than the translucent material used on the earlier kick.

Perhaps due to the popularity of the original model and the fact that not everyone who wanted a pair was able to cop, Nike is releasing four colorways of the React Element 55 at once on September 29. The shoes will drop at 10 a.m. EDT.

Each colorway features a black upper, while the color of the detailing ranges from red, volt, and white/black to aurora blue. The majority of the midsole and outsole on each shoe ranges from white to black with two shades of gray in between. Swooshes come in white, gray, red, or aurora blue.

For those who missed out on the React Element 87, the React Element 55 is another chance to cop one of Nike’s best new silhouettes at retail price. At $130, the 55 is also a more wallet-friendly option than the $160 React Element 87.

Check out all four colorways above and then let us know which you’ll be picking up in the comments below.
