Model: Zoom Fly SP
Key Features: Translucent upper, baseball-branded tongues, graphic insole featuring the Chicago Cubs’ 2016 World Series Sports Illustrated cover.
Release Date: November 2018
Editor’s Notes: One of the standouts from this year’s Doernbecher Freestyle collection is Nike’s Zoom Fly SP designed by Payton Fentress. Fentress — a lover of baseball, Jurassic World, and his guitar — was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 2010.
The eye-catching sneaker sees hits of Green Shock, Blue Hero, and Habanero Red coming together throughout, making the design undeniably vibrant. The Zoom Fly SP also features a strong baseball theme, welcoming baseball-branded tongues and a Chicago Cubs-inspired insole.
For now, Nike has yet to announce release details for the Zoom Fly SP “Doernbecher,” again, a part of this year’s Doernbecher Freestyle collection designed by patients of the OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland. All proceeds from the sneakers will go back to the hospital.
In other news, OFF-WHITE has officially announced its new Nike Air Max 97 collabs.
