In 1990 Nike launched the Acqua Boot, a shoe made for water sports like sailing and windsurfing that became a street style favorite. Over 25 years later, the sole of the Acqua Boot has become the base of the latest collaboration of Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci and NikeLab. The designer fused the design and materials of the iconic Nike design with the look and feel of a Chelsea Boot. The outcome is the unique NikeLab Air Zoom Legend X RT. While one colorway is more basketball-inspired and features a black mesh upper with colorful heel detailing, the other one has a more sophisticated appeal, featuring a grey floral pattern embroidered on a black, woven jacquard upper and white midsole. If you look at everything that Tisci has done so far with Nike, starting with the Air Force 1 collections and ending with a head turning Dunk, the Air Zoom Legend X RT is by far the most interesting, truly bringing modern design, performance and a sense of sophistication together in one. The NikeLab Air Zoom Legend x RT will launch this week at NikeLab retailers and on nike.com/nikelab.
