Following last month’s release of his debut project, Mudboy, Sheck Wes has been brought on for a special collaboration with Nike. The Harlem rapper is now the inaugural curator of the brand’s NYC Editions program that provides local creatives with direct access to classic Nike silhouettes.
For his official debut, Wes reworked the Air Max 95 and the Blazer Mid which references the time that he splits between New York and Los Angeles. In a press release, the 20-year-old explained how his love for basketball also extends into the footwear with the orange and purple colors representing the Knicks and Lakers.
In addition to the sneakers, the rapper’s NYC Editions collaboration features two T-shirts, a long-sleeve shirt, hoodie, shorts, and pants. Nike will be celebrating the release all weekend at the Social Studies New York pop-up at Milk Studios from 11am-7pm ET. The sneakers are also available to purchase at Nike stores and select retailers.
In other Swoosh news, Nike and FC Barcelona have unveiled a mashup jersey to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their partnership.
