Those who aren’t well-acquainted with Netflix’s Master of None won’t be in on Aziz Ansari and Eric Wareheim’s Big Bud, Lil Bud joke, but that doesn’t mean you won’t enjoy the spoof video they’ve created for Kanye West’s track “Famous.”
While on a recent trip to Italy (spoiler alert: it probably has something to do with MoN‘s second season) the two were littering their social media channels with all sorts of food and funny business, and it looks like they took it one step further and created this video too.
Not a stranger to directing, Eric Wareheim (of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! fame) – who’s directed music videos for artists including Flying Lotus, Major Lazer and Mr. Oizo – and Aziz co-directed the video, which features them downing a lot of shrimp and white wine, while parodying stereotypical cues from hip-hop music videos. It’s lo-fi and candid, but that’s what makes it even funnier – the two probably just decided to shoot the video impromptu while drunk on a working holiday and here’s the outcome.
Update: Kanye West took a shine to the hilarious spoof video and has made it the official music video for the song. This makes it the first visual released from The Life of Pablo.
Update II: Kanye’s publicist confirmed that while the musician is a fan of the video, it is not in fact the official visual for “Famous.”
