Where the runway meets the street

Earlier this summer Nike SB teamed up with Copenhagen fashion brand Soulland, making a first obvious move into the fashion scene. We have seen a steady rise of the skate market and the fashion market getting closer these last few years. Seeing Thrasher hoodies in the first row of a fashion show is by no means an exception anymore. Stores such as Dover Street Market carrying skate brands and a heavy selection of bold graphic T-shirts has also become the norm. The brands had to eventually catch on. Nike SB made a first move with their collaboration with Soulland and today presents its new collaboration with Call Me 917, a brand by skater Alex Olson. While closer to home, this still does show Nike SB’s commitment to answer to today’s market demands. Olson’s brand is carried by the very best retailers around the globe, including Dover Street Market, and therefore this collaboration also makes complete sense.

The Nike SB x Call Me 917 “Country Club” collection consists of two colorways of the Blazer Low GT in obsidian and off-white. Both feature suede uppers and a tricolor stripe detail running across the laces and the heel. The same detail can be found on the matching apparel collection, which includes shorts, long-sleeve polos, and a cap. The collection releases on September 17 from select retailers and Nike.com.
