ACRONYM’s latest footwear project with Nike is now confirmed, with new images surfacing on the ACRONYM homepage.

We can now confirm this new take on the Air Force 1 is named the ACRONYM x Nike AF1 Downtown Hi SP, and even though images have been surfacing on the web for some time, and even some early pairs that popped up on eBay, we can only assume that Nike pushed back the release to coincide with the Air Force 1’s 35th anniversary this year.

Anyone that is previously familiar with the German label ACRONYM will know that real functionality lies behind the shoe’s technical look, enough so that the release even comes complete with a construction manual. The ultra high-top comes with a lateral zipped closure, ankle strap, and graphic hit on the heel showing the ACRONYM logo.

In keeping with the label’s militaristic naming conventions, each of the three colorways are assigned a numeric code — the DAF1-001 in Black/White/Medium Olive, the DAF1-003 in Black/Black/Olive, and finally the DAF1-006 in Black/Black/Bright Crimson.

Although the ACRONYM homepage currently lists the three styles as sold out, we have reason to suspect there may be another release slated for February 11.
