Editor’s Notes: David Chang, award-winning chef and founder of culinary brand Momofuku has joined forces with Nike SB to reinterpret the classic Dunk High Pro — inspired by the cultural intersection of food, skateboarding and sneakers.
Aptly dubbed “Momofuku,” the sneaker flaunts a dark denim construction modeled after the aprons worn by staff in David’s restaurants, alongside an embroidered Momofuku logo (a lucky peach with green leaf accents) located across the heel.
Other notable design elements include the numbers “163” and “207” adorning the sock liners, noting the addresses of David’s first two restaurants — Noodle Bar (163 First Avenue) and Ssäm Bar (207 Second Avenue) in New York City’s East Village. These restaurants hold special significance as their influence can be found throughout Momofuku.
Extremely limited in quantities find it at select Nike retailers starting June 23.
Also, an upcoming Nike Dunk Low “Japan” combines OG colorways for a mismatched aesthetic.
