To the delight of sneakerheads, last month Nike issued up the Mars Yard shoe 2.0 in collaboration with designer Tom Sachs. Version 1.0 of the shoe released back in 2012, and was rather unprecedented at the time, in the way that Nike chose to tap a designer who is largely unknown in the mainstream.
Over the years, the Mars Yard 2.0 shoe became a status symbol for those “in the know,” but was nearly impossible to find in deadstock condition due to the limited first release.
Launched at an obstacle course-inspired event in New York City, the 2.0 was selectively seeded to those in the industry, and not made publicly available. Now the sneaker is being treated to a wider release this month, when the NikeCraft Mars Yard will be available globally on July 27. Visit nikecraft.com to test and earn the shoe.
