With the release of silhouettes such as the Hyperfuse and the Ultra Essential, Nike have been giving some of their legendary silhouettes a 21st century makeover. The Air Max 1 Ultra Essential OG is the latest addition to that collection of modern classics.
Paying tribute to the original by adopting the very same white-grey-varsity red colorway that left its footprint on sneaker history way back in 1987, the silhouette has been slimmed down from the original Air Max 1, with the whole upper made from a single piece of material.
Details such as the quarter and the Swoosh are actually screen-printed on, rather than made of separate sewn-on parts, while the whole sneaker sits on top of an Ultra sole.
Retailing at $120, the Nike Air Max 1 Ultra Essential OG is available now from Sneaker Politics.
