From the ground up

French sneaker website Wave has commissioned sneaker customizer Julien Pagès and box designer Mathias Prognon to create a special Kylian Mbappé-themed pack of custom Nike sneakers.

Mbappé, who helped France win the 2018 World Cup in Russia and was named the best young player at the tournament, is now being honored through what has been dubbed the Nike “KM Pack.”

The pack features two sneakers. The first, an Air Max Plus, is from the footballer’s birth year, 1998, while the other is the recent Air Max 270. Together, they symbolize the growth and hard work Mbappé has undertaken over the past 20 years.

Both sneakers come with a primarily white base accentuated by red and blue hits on the upper. The Air Max Plus features one gold star, symbolizing France’s first World Cup win in 1998, while the Air Max 270 features two stars.

A dual-chamber box with a transparent top featuring the French flag and “1998 – 2018” round off this impressive one-of-one commissioned custom.
