Model: Free x Metcon 2
Key Features: Bootie construction with a pull tab for ankle support, durable TPU strap integrated with the laces that wraps the midfoot and heel to provide lock-in, flexible Nike Free outsole.
Release Date: March 28 for NikePlus members and April 4 globally
Editor’s Notes: Nike will soon be releasing the followup to its Metcon trainer, this week officially introducing the Free x Metcon 2. The sneaker is designed for everything from short runs to a studio class, free weights and kettlebells.
The Free x Metcon 2 boasts a bootie construction with a pull tab for better ankle support, while welcoming a larger TPU strap — in comparison to the Metcon — wrapping the midfoot and heel to offer added lock-in when necessary. The midsole of the Free x Metcon 2 is then constructed from a firmer foam, which provides extra stability while lifting weights. Finally, the shoe is finished off with Nike’s flexible Free outsole.
The all-new Free x Metcon 2 will be available in men’s and women’s sizes beginning March 28 for NikePlus members. A global release is scheduled for April 4.
