Editor’s Notes: Renowned organic sneaker brand Veja has teamed up with French fashion house Lemaire on two colorways each of the Aquashoe and Boots silhouettes. Highsnobiety can exclusively unveil each of the models, as well as the inspiration behind the collaboration.
The partnership came about when Christophe Lemaire and Veja co-founder Sébastien Kopp were sitting next to each other at a Greenpeace dinner. “We did not know each other, but the flow was instantly natural,“ says Kopp. “Christophe is one of the best designer of his generation, but he has a quality that is very scarce in this fashion world: humility.”
Lemaire expands on what the two brands wanted to achieve, “The Aquashoe is the desire to mix the concept of diving socks and Chinese slippers, with the contrasted rubber sole in white.”
Lemaire has collaborated with Uniqlo, Lacoste, and many others in the past.
The sneakers will first be available for purchase on March 14 at Paris’ Centre Commercial Store. Check them out above.
