As we are nearing the end of the NBA regular season, Jordan Brand is of course beginning to focus on the playoffs by introducing select footwear styles for its athletes. This week, the brand introduces an all-new hoops silhouette, dubbed the Ultra.Fly.

The Ultra.Fly gets its inspiration from Michael Jordan's "Black Cat" nickname, which was given to him during playoff time, as he was well known for assessing the flow of the game and in turn striking with purpose when the time was right. Accordingly, the upper of the Ultra.Fly features a Kurim material overlay as a nod to the black cat. The overlay has been implemented to act as a cage for the shoe to deliver a custom fit with flexible structure. The design on the upper then mimics the coat of a spotted leopard, further building on the cat theme.

Jordan Brand athlete Jimmy Butler will be debuting the all-new Ultra.Fly on-court this week, while the sneaker will become available for purchase — in three colorways — on April 2 via Jordan.com. Retail is $125 USD.

Fans of the Jumpman can also look forward to the Air Jordan 4 Retro “Dunk From Above” releasing this weekend.
